Meditation Rock

                                        My Dad passed away last November at 95. We will
                                         be spreading his ashes here this summer.His wish was
                                         to join my Mother who we buried here in 2005. It is
                                         front of the family cottage on a beautiful tidal cove in

Setting Sail

                              I don't usually paint boats but I have been wanting to try this
                              reference photo that I took in Rockport last summer. It was a
                              beautiful evening and the setting sun just lit up the Harbor.
                              This sailboat had pulled in next to Motif no.1. In the original
                               photo below, I decide to crop out the building and just make
                              the boat the focus.

On A Carousel

                                            I love carousel horses and I have a lot of photos
                                            of these beauties that are fun to paint from. We
                                            take my grandson to Salem Willows Park in Salem
                                            Massachusetts and he just loves to ride on the Merry

                                       My cat loves to curl up in a sunny spot. He is all grey
                                       but in the light he reflects a beautiful array of colors.

                    My husband sells vintage items on Ebay, so he always has an assortment
                    of items to use for references. I came across some old vintage photo-
                    graphs circa 1930's This photo looked like it would be fun to paint. I love
                    how the light is coming through the window and the way the newspaper
                     drapes down onto her lap.

                                          Painted from a photo taken at Sunapee Lake, N.H.
                                          Some boys were having fun jumping off the boat
                                          dock,and this dog jumped right in to make sure that
                                          his best bud was okay. It was a little tricky doing
                                          an underwater painting.
